Accessibility
Last updated 15 October 2026
I want everyone to be able to play Draft Party. I'm working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Draft Party hasn't had a formal audit yet, so this page says plainly what works and what doesn't.
What works today
- The game is built from real buttons and links, so it works with touch, mouse or keyboard, and most controls have text a screen reader can read.
- Reduce effects in Settings turns off flashing, shaking and moving effects and the flying mascot. The game also follows your device's reduced-motion setting.
- Sound is optional and off-able in Settings; nothing in the game depends on hearing it.
- The layout adapts from small phones to large screens, and you can zoom the page.
- Character cards always show the character's name and anime as text, not only as a picture.
Known limits
- A few icon-only buttons (for example in game setup) are missing a text label for screen readers. I'm adding them.
- Colour contrast and screen-reader flow haven't been fully checked against WCAG yet.
- Online turns have timers. If a timer is too short for you, play in one-phone mode, which has no timers.
- Some card animations and the holographic card effect are decorative and are skipped by screen readers.
- Character pictures come from AniList and don't have detailed descriptions beyond the character's name.
